Vanecia “Xulee” Boone is an Actress, Director, Professor, and Voice Coach, originally from Greensboro, NC. Vanecia received her MFA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2013. Vanecia has directed Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and Othello, as well as produced her originally devised production Mend-A-City: The Movement over the last 7 years at various theatres and universities. Other directing credits include Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls and Konvergence with the African American Student Association for Theatre and Film. Her recent acting credits include Mad at Miles: A Black Woman’s Guide to Truth, Barbecue, Crowns, and Shug Avery in The Color Purple. Vanecia is a committee member of the Amplify: Black Voices festival which brings together colleges all over North Carolina to produce plays, by new and upcoming black playwrights. She has been a voice and dialect coach for several productions including Rebellious with the Triad Stage and Fairview at the University of West Connecticut. She is also an acting teacher for Guilford Country Schools Lycuem Series. Vanecia is an Acting professor at North Carolina A&T State University and an adjunct at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
